Wages: $51,351 - $53,428 base per year depending on experience/qualifications, and full benefit package. Arena duty allowance of $160 per month (Sept-May) in addition to base pay.

Hours: 8 hours per day/260 days per year. 9:00-1:30 M-F at Washington 4-5 Center and floater/activities for the remainder of the eight-hour workday. The floater/activities position will include split schedules, night, and weekend schedules. Split schedules, night, and weekend schedules include Huron Arena, TAC, and Tiger Stadium-Tennis Complex Activities. Activities coverage is shared with other custodians.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a valid Driver's License. Similar work history preferable. Be in good health and physically able to perform duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Washinton 4-5 Center
- Performs daily housekeeping tasks of cleaning building and maintaining grounds and equipment, utilizing proper cleaning.
- Performs duties as assigned by the building principal, buildings/grounds director, and building foreman (lead) custodian.
- Inspects building and grounds and corrects or reports any unsafe conditions.
- Reports acts of vandalism and person(s) responsible too building principal.
- Presents a neat appearance.
- Establishes good rapport with pupils, administrators, staff, and public.
- Is punctual and follows the building schedule.
- Attends custodial workshops and demonstrations when requested.
- Is knowledgeable about school policies.
- Assumes other duties as may be assigned.
Floater/Activities
District placement, Huron Arena, TAC, and Tiger Stadium-Tennis Complex Activities responsibility would include event set up/tear down, event coverage, and restroom/building/grounds cleanliness as related to the event. The custodian will perform duties as assigned by the arena manager and/or the buildings and grounds director.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
